Chinese stop Aussies’ run

AUSTRALIA were beaten 3-1 by China in Kunsan yesterday, ending a four-match Volleyroos winning run.

Australia coach Mark Lebedew rested several key players, including captain Paul Carroll and Nathan Roberts but the young team started strongly to take the opening set 25-17.

The momentum shifted shortly after with China winning the next three – 25-19, 25-23, 25-17 – to avenge their 3-0 loss to Australia last weekend and to regain the Hancock Prospecting Cup.
