Drugs find at airport

A MAN has been arrested in northern NSW after police found drugs on him at the Ballina-Byron Airport carpark.

Tweed/Bryon police yesterday stopped and searched the man around 3.30pm in the car park, before allegedly finding 11g of methylamph­etamine and a small amount of ketamine.

The 41-year-old man was arrested and taken to Ballina Police Station.

Police also searched the man’s home, finding a number of items which were seized for further examinatio­n.

The man has been charged with supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable quantity) and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was granted conditiona­l bail to appear at Ballina Local Court on Thursday 13 July 2017.

Investigat­ions are ongoing.
