Bouncer hit Suns star
A LOCAL nightclub bouncer has been ordered to complete community service after punching Gold Coast Suns star Jack Martin during a disagreement over jokes from The Footy Show.
Excell John Placid, 20, yesterday pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court to assault occasioning bodily harm after he punched the Australian rules star in the face at Victoria St in Broadbeach on June 4.
He was sentenced to 120 hours of community service and had no conviction recorded. Placid was also ordered to pay $800 compensation.
Mr Martin suffered bruising and swelling to the back of his head after falling on the ground, the court heard.
