Buddy fined for bump on Tiger

-

SYDNEY star Lance Franklin has escaped with a fine but one of his teammates could miss Friday’s clash with Essendon.

Franklin was yesterday offered a $1000 fine for his high bump on Tiger Connor Menadue but fellow Swan Zak Jones wasn’t so lucky.

Jones has been offered a one-match penalty for striking Richmond’s Dan Butler in an incident the panel deemed to be “intentional conduct with low impact to the head”.

Franklin, 30, had collected Menadue as the Richmond youngster was over the ball. The panel considered a medical report from Punt Rd but determined the incident to be “careless conduct with low impact to the head”.

Tiger Alex Rance was cleared over his interaction with Franklin.

Geelong skipper Joel Selwood was cited for collecting West Coast midfielder Sam Mitchell high, with Mitchell also looked at by the panel for retaliating with a swinging arm and dragging the Cat to the ground around his neck. Both have been offered a $1000 fine.
