‘CHARITY’ OVER FOR MAROONS

- NICHOLAS MCELROY

STOOPING to be mates with a NSW Blues supporter is charitable work according to Maroons fan Paul Green.

He took his mate and mad football fan Dennis Mulheron to watch the big game at the Star Casino at Broadbeach last night.

“Sometimes you just have to take someone in who is in need, help the people who need it most,” Mr Green said. “Blues supporters haven’t had much to celebrate over the years. It’s almost like a charity program.”

If Mr Green was being charitable, the same cannot be said of the Maroons on the field, who came out on top in a dramatic Game 2 clash to level the Origin series.

“It was a tough loss but there’s still another game to go,” Mr Mulheron said.

And his mate Mr Green is sure he knows how that game will finish. “They obviously fixed up a few things and now we can go on and win the series at home,” he said. “How good will that be? Queenslander!”
