Husband on murder rap

THE man accused of murdering his estranged wife Sharon Edwards – who vanished from northern NSW more than two years ago – has faced court charged with her murder.

John Wallace Edwards, 61, didn’t apply for bail at Tweed Heads Local Court yesterday after he was extradited from Queensland.

Edwards was earlier charged at the local police station with murdering Ms Edwards in March 2015.

Ms Edwards, 55, was last seen alive by her husband about 10.30pm on March 14, 2015 at their home in Lawrence, north of Grafton.
