OLLIE THE BEAGLE HAS A NOSE FOR OFFICE WORK

- MEGAN BIROT

OLLIE the beagle has plenty of “tails” to tell at work.

The 18-week-old pup is a regular at Freedom Internet in Surfers Paradise and for today at least he won’t be alone with other pet owners celebrating International Take Your Dog To Work Day. The day promotes the benefits of pet companionship in the workplace and at home.

Emily Dustan, the promotions officer at Freedom Internet, said Ollie and his antics boosted office morale and brought “a smile to people’s faces”.

The pooch was top dog of the office and even travelled to Melbourne to visit other branches. Freedom Internet general manager Melissa Casbolt said she bought Ollie after reading research suggesting dogs fostered a more harmonious working environment. “I found out dogs can relieve stress and help with connectivity,” she said.

“So Ollie comes to work with me every day and everyone is happy.”
