Rival bikie gangs brawl outside of club

Police are investigat­ing an incident after two rival bikie gangs brawled outside a Tweed Heads club on Wednesday. The incident happened about 8.20pm outside the Seagulls Club, but when local police arrived the two groups had already left. Soon after police found several men in a nearby carpark, some believed to be members of the bikie gangs.

Surfer escapes gnarly moment

A tow-in surfer made a narrow escape when his jet ski partner was sucked over his head while he rode inside the barrel of a Currumbin wave this week. Pumping waves attracted dozens of jet ski tow-in surfers to breaks across the Gold Coast to make the most of conditions.

$1.4m criminal racket busted

Police say they have busted a syndicate involved in a $1.4 million drug and stolen property racket after 15 raids on the northern end of the Gold Coast. Some 55 people have been arrested as Operation Moonshot closed, netting more than $600,000 worth of drugs, $500,000 worth of stolen vehicles and $300,000 worth of stolen power tools.
