Netflix earns serve for teens anorexia movie

-

NETFLIX’S latest teen movie has been slammed by Australia’s biggest eating disorder prevention group, who say the flick glamorises anorexia to impressionable young viewers.

Top psychologists are worried new Netflix movie To the Bone, starring American actor Lily Collins, will serve as “a manual” for eating disorders to impressionable teenagers.

Mindframe, Australia’s gov- ernment body regulating responsible reporting of mental health issues, will raise concerns with the Australian Communications and Media Authority this week.

Butterfly Foundation chief executive Christine Morgan said To the Bone could inspire copycat behaviour. Child Dr Michael Carr-Gregg said he worried about the show normalising eating disorders.
