No regrets for old Dog

WESTERN Bulldogs veteran Matthew Boyd has “no regrets” playing on, despite facing an uphill battle to get back in the best 22.

The 34-year-old defender has been forced to work his way back into form through the VFL after battling niggly injuries early in the season.

“It might look to the outside world like I should have retired at the end of a premiership year and gone out on top as an All Australian,” Boyd said.

“You hope it goes as well as last year but in reality you probably know it’s not going to go as well. My eyes were open to the fact I could play VFL footy, I could have some injury concerns and miss periods of the season.”
