Aquaman on board with Kelly Slater’s designs
AQUAMAN star Jason Momoa has arrived back on the Coast, posting a picture of himself collecting some new ‘green’ surfboards and a pad made from pond scum.
The Hawaiian actor caught up with surfing great Kelly Slater on the Coast for a Guinness when he picked up a couple of Firewire Surfboards and a Slater Designs pad made from pond scum.
“Kid in a candy shop,” Momoa captioned pictures on Instagram. “Super stoked my first boards. Normally I always borrow my OHANA’s boards. Mahalo Kelly and raz Check out these pads. never did Algae feel so good between your toes!”
Momoa explained how the Slater Designs’ patented algaetechnology removes excess algae biomass from freshwater sources and reticulates freshwater back into the habitat, “aiding in the capture and sequestration of CO2”.
“@slaterdesigns are literally scarping pond scum, solar drying and pulverising it before foaming the material to create a pad that helps rebalance the natural ecology!” Momoa wrote.
The devoted dad posted a picture of himself walking along Mermaid Beach with daughter Lola, and son NakoaWolf, the image captured from behind to shield their faces, and asked Aussie photographers to leave his ‘babies’ alone.
