THE famously secretive and exclusive Diner en Blanc is coming to the Gold Coast.

The pop-up all-white picnic will be held on September 9 but the location remains a mystery.

You will need to be well connected to score one of the 1000 tickets available, according to Diner en Blanc organiser George Thie.

“If you are linked to one of our partners such as Pacific Fair or Gold Coast BMW you’ll go on the priority list and tickets will be released to you first,” he said.

“After signing up to the waiting list, people will get an invitation similar to the golden ticket of the (Willy Wonka) chocolate factory, that’s the idea.”

While the diners’ destination remains hush-hush for now, Mr Thie hinted the council had approved a location “possibly near water.”

Gold Coast social media influencer Emilee Hembrow, who has already scored a ticket to the party, said she was intrigued by the event’s secrecy.

“I really like the mystery and exclusivity around it, so I can’t wait to see it,” she said.

Those who score tickets will be informed of the location hours prior to the event and will be picked by buses at various locations.
