A CORNER block – until recently home to Merrimac General Store and Takeaway – will go under the hammer next week.
The 724sq m site at 12 Bourton Rd features a two-level house converted into a store downstairs, including a cold room and grease trap, and a three-bedroom home upstairs.
The property, sold as a vacant possession, is being offloaded by Fourth Brick Pty Ltd, linked to Julie Efron, which acquired the property in 1993.
Ray White Industrial/Commercial Gold Coast agent Lachlan Marshall, who is marketing the property with colleague Jared Johnson, said it was attracting wide interest.
“We’ve had interest from people looking to operate a business from the site as well as home buyers looking to convert the shop and unit back into a house. We’ve also had interest from developers.”
The property will go to auction on July 6 at 11am at the Gold Coast Turf Club.
