Run, Forrest, run

WHEN Clayton Oates brought home some Forrest Gump costumes from America, his sons knew exactly what to do with them.

On Saturday the family of four dressed up to compete in the Southern Cross University 10km Run.

Jack, 20, Matt 18, and 15- year-old Luke Oates all wore the beards as they raced the circuit, with Matt and Luke managing to complete the run in under 50 minutes.

“We got a couple of people calling ‘run, Forrest, run’, cheering us on,” Luke said.

“It was hard, we didn’t think we could do it. (Dad’s) never run more than three kilometres in his life.”
