Premier’s pulling power
PREMIER Annastacia Palaszczuk traded in politics for tractor pulling at the Scenic Rim’s annual Winter Harvest Festival.
Ms Palaszczuk and her father, Henry, a former Queensland Minister, joined the record-breaking crowd of more than 12,000 people.
The pair judged the signature event – the Tractor Pull Competition.
“I had the opportunity to visit the region following Tropical Cyclone Debbie and met with producers and toured the affected areas,” she said.
“It is particularly heartening to see such a bumper crop of visitors this year – three months after Tropical Cyclone Debbie hit the region.”
The Harvest Festival, which attracts about $1.7 million to the Scenic Rim, allows farmers and local producers to display their crops and products.
