Eyesight risk for diabetics

PEOPLE with type 2 diabetes who snore could lose their eyesight within just four years, research has warned.

Obstructiv­e sleep apnoea, where throat walls relax, resulting in snoring, is common in patients with type 2 diabetes. Now scientists say it greatly increases the risk of diabetic retinopath­y, the most common form of diabetic eye disease.
