Weaponised stupidity

A MAN who accidentally shot himself in the crotch after sitting on his gun in his car may be sent to jail.

Police in Florida said Cedrick Jelks, 38, was getting into his car on Friday morning when the accident occurred.

The gun was on the driver’s seat and when Jelks sat on it it fired, sending a bullet into his crotch. Police were called to investigate and found that Jelks was not licensed to own a gun because he is a convicted felon so he may face charges.

The unfortunate accident comes just weeks after another Florida man – ironically named Jason Trigger – shot himself at a grocery store.

He was carrying a handgun in the waistband of his pants when it slipped, fell onto the ground and went off.

He was also charged with illegal possession of a firearm, due to his multiple previous convictions.
