Claws out on cruelty
A WESTERN Sydney woman who let her cat’s claws become so ingrown and infected it had to be put down has been fined $300 for animal cruelty and ordered to pay $1000 in costs.
Kayla Spears, 31, pleaded guilty in Campbelltown Local Court to three counts of animal cruelty after RSPCA inspectors found the cat at her property in December and immediately took it in for medical care.
The animal was euthanised four days later because its condition did not improve.
