MAKING A CREATIVE MOVE

-

THE best part of marketing co-ordinator Jade Tonkin’s job is the opportunity to be creative.

Tonkin (pictured), who is in charge of southern region marketing for holiday accommodation developer Mantra Group, says she chose the career to move into creative industries.

“Marketing has many opportunities within my background of the travel and hospitality sector so I thought it was a good fit,” she says.

“I still want to work with and connect with people, and marketing offers this internally and externally.”

She started with a Certificate IV in Business through the Mantra Group then completed a Diploma of Media and Communication through Queensland Institute of Business and Technology and a Bachelor of Public Relations and Communication at Griffith University.

“I look after email marketing, social media and create sales modules on our websites for marketing campaigns,” she says.

“I also assist with admin duties such as reporting and invoicing.

“If you genuinely have an interest in a specific field or even if you’re not 100 per cent sure, just go for it as once you start opportunities arise. THREE JOBS TO LIVE IN THE LAP OF LUXURY
