SUPER League player Jamie Acton faces an eight-game ban after lifting Catalans star Greg Bird as he lay hurt following an on-field collision.

Leigh forward Acton has been charged with other contrary behaviour after he appeared to lift the former Gold Coast forward by the shirt.
