CCC probe into council

THE Corruption and Crime Commission has launched an investigation into Queensland’s embattled Fraser Coast Regional Council for alleged corrupt conduct.

The CCC on Wednesday confirmed the investigation followed an assessment of the allegations.

Newly-appointed council chief executive, Ken Diehm, said he understood the investigation related to events that took place before his appointment and that of acting chief executive Ray Burton.
