McCalman misses out

-

WESTERN Force skipper Ben McCalman has fallen short in his bid to return for the Super Rugby clash with the Rebels in Perth tomorrow night.

McCalman has been grounded for most of the season because of persistent fractures in his shoulder.

The Force will also be without veteran Matt Hodgson (calf) but winger Chance Peni (groin) is back and flyhalf Jono Lance (broken hand) will make his return off the bench.

Either the Force or Rebels will be culled ahead of the 2018 season and the two teams will lock horns in a stirring clash.

“There’s going to be a lot of emotion,” Force and Wallabies lock Adam Coleman said.

“For the players, it’s a special time for us. A lot of the stuff’s been happening over our heads.

“We can show our opinion on the field. That’s all we can control.”
