MUNSTER GETS PIVOTAL ROLE

-

MAROONS debutant Cameron Munster has won the race for the coveted Queensland No.6 jumper and will today be unveiled as Johnathan Thurston’s replacement for the Origin decider.

Munster was picked over Michael Morgan for the fiveeighth spot following intense deliberation between coach Kevin Walters, selectors Gene Miles and Darren Lockyer and skipper Cameron Smith.

The Queensland No.6 jumper has been worn by some of rugby league’s biggest names including Wally Lewis, Lockyer and Thurston.

Now Munster will get to emulate his childhood idol Lockyer after Walters decided the Storm star had the selfbelief and skill-set to fill the boots of Thurston.
