Plan to skip Maccas line

-

LABRADOR McDonald’s is about to solve the wait while the car ahead decides if they want chicken nuggets or a Big Mac.

The fast food giant has lodged a planning application to expand their drive thru and it was all because customers were impatient at ordering.

The expansion will include making a second lane at the drive thru for people to place their order.

“(Delays are caused by) customers having trouble deciding at the ordering point,” the planning documents read.

“To overcome this problem, the second lane allows vehicles to bypass anyone waiting in the first lane.”

The Labrador McDonald’s is on Gold Coast Hwy and often has a number of cars queuing at the drive thru.

To make room for the added lane, McDonald’s will remove a house at the back of the shop on Gilmore Lane.

The change will also add another three car parks at the restaurant.

Opening hours at McDonald’s will not change.

Public comment on the development application will remain open until July 28.
