Parked cars smashed

AN allegedly drunk man who crashed into two parked cars at Hope Island in the early hours of yesterday morning has been revealed as Commonwealth Games electrical contractor Phillip Page.

The 51-year-old was charged and issued with a notice to appear in court after he allegedly crashed and blew .128 on Pendraat Parade at Hope Island at about 12.45am yesterday.

Mr Page’s employer Aggreko won the bid in August last year to provide temporary power for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The company will power all 18 competition venues including the Games Village.
