HUGE SUPPORT DRIVES HORN’S DREAMS

- CHRIS HONNERY

BOXING’S new world champion swapped the Camry for a slick Shelby Cobra in a trip along the Queen St Mall he’ll never forget.

Jeff Horn was greeted to a rousing reception from thousands of fans in Brisbane’s CBD yesterday for his tickertape parade.

And the pain, the 182 brutal punches, the right eye swollen shut for two days; it was all worth it because of this support, Horn said. “I guess the first thing I can say is wow,” he said to the crowd.“This is unbelievable just like in the stadium where I had 51,000 or so and millions around the world watching. Thank you all for turning up and supporting me and my dreams.”

His Queenslander neversay-die attitude earnt him the Keys to the City of Brisbane which was awarded to him by Lord Mayor Graham Quirk.

The last project Horn admitted still needed to be done, was to finally swap the Camry for good. “I’m in talks with a few people at the moment,” he said about getting a new car.
