MOST of us can’t recall our first birthday but hopefully the Channel 7 Gold Coast News crew will long remember the party to celebrate their first year of broadcasting. Held atop Q1, the night was a chance to thank the many who made it all possible. Ben RobertsSmith VC, Channel 7’s Queensland general manager, told how the station now had every region in our great state covered with a local news broadcast. Away from the news the best quip of the night belonged to The Chaser’s Issa Schultz. Renowned as a man who can remember the most obscure facts, he confessed he couldn’t remember where he had put his drink. Nobody’s perfect.
