Interior designer grows in Ashmore

- RYAN KEEN

A LEADING interior design supplier with a national reputation has just taken a lease over a large freestanding industrial building in central suburb Ashmore.

Uniqwa Furniture, which launched in 2009 has expanded from a smaller warehouse in Kamholtz Court, Molendinar to 22 Central Park Avenue.

Their new 1,435 sqm base is on 2,081 sqm of land located off Southport-Nerang Road.

It was marketed exclusively by Cushman & Wakefield associate director Josh Wright who said Uniqwa had signed a three-year lease with options.

It is behind Ashmore Factory Outlets which has Billabong as anchor tenant.

The building is 1,017 sqm warehouse plus a 418 sqm office area above a lockable car park. The building is concrete tilt panel construction with new Cat 5 data cabling.

Uniqwa Furniture is a trade supplier of designer furniture inspired by nature and ethnic culture.

“Being eco-friendly, socially and sustainably responsible are part of our core attributes. We use recycled and plantation timber as well as many various sustainable materials in our designs and range offering,” Uniqwa director Charl van Heerden said.

“Our company has grown considerably in the past two years driven predominantly through our online social media presence. We just secured a new client, being a major home staging company in Los Angeles.”

Mr Wright said the central Coast industrial market was under supplied with limited vacancies.

“Sites of this nature typically lease for $110/sqm depending on length of lease.

“The move has enabled the tenant to enlarge their showroom space to cater for their expanding range. The freehold nature of the property also allows them to drop containers on-site without getting in the way of other users”.
