Thor production team braces for US reshoot
CAMERAS are set to begin rolling on Thor: Ragnarok again – this time in the US.
Director Taika Waititi will oversee reshoots for the Marvel blockbuster, due for release in Australia on October 26, in Atlanta from Wednesday.
The Atlanta JournalConstitution recently published a reshoot casting call for “caucasian-looking men” aged over 18 and between 5’10” and 6’1” tall.
“You must be very physically fit, with muscular and defined arms,” the notice said.
It is not known which of the film’s stars – who include Aussies Chris Hemsworth and Cate Blanchett and returning favourites Sir Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo – will be involved in the reshoots.
The blockbuster has been in post production since its fourmonth shoot on the Gold Coast wrapped last October.
The first Thor: Ragnarok trailer, released in April, was Marvel and Disney’s most watched ever, in 24 hours clocking up 136 million views.
Meanwhile, the Gold Coast’s current Hollywood stars in residence, Amber Heard and Jason Momoa, have been photographed enjoying another perfect winter’s weekend on the Glitter Strip.
Former WWE star-turnedcelebrity trainer Mada Abdelhamid uploaded a picture on Instagram that shows him trying out Movie World’s Superman rollercoaster with Momoa and US professional rock climber and climbing coach Norman Montes.
“Why are @prideofgypsies (Momoa) and @normontesmvj (Montes) smiling while I’m screaming for my life? This was one CRAZY roller coaster … we loved it so much we did it twice!!,” he wrote in the caption.
