DUO CREATE ‘FACEBOOK’ FOR MEDICS
STUDENTS Jeremy Lynch and William Tsai are at the forefront of a world-first medical technology breakthrough.
The pair are members of a Griffith University team revolutionising the way medical students connect and collaborate online.
They have created an application called Jaffy.com.au which helps medical students solve and understand complex medical cases.
“Facebook is a great social tool though its use is limited in the classroom” Mr Lynch, 22, said. “There is a growing need for specialised social apps to facilitate the unique studies of medical students.”
So far, the app in its pre-launch version has been widely praised and utilised by the team’s peers ahead of its Griffith launch in July.
“Jaffy is in its early stages though its reception has been overwhelmingly promising,” Mr Lynch said.
Mr Lynch, who has worked as a web developer, said the project was largely self-funded. Jaffy also has a small number of supporters including the Griffith University Medical Society (GUMS).
