Flannery’s bold plans

BRIAN Flannery, who made a fortune out of coal, and wife Peggy are weighing up options for a ‘standout’ project on the Surfers Paradise beachfront.

Their KTQ group wants to bowl adjoining Garfield Tce low-rises Sefton and Boolama and redevelopment ideas on the table include ‘ultra premium’ apartments and a fivestar hotel with restaurant and rooftop bar.

Brian has just sold a Surfers high-rise site, bought in 2011 for $6.38 million, for $16 million.
