A SECOND major Melbourne property player is believed to have apartment tower ambitions on Chevron Island.

Bensons Property Group, which is no stranger to highrise projects, is being suggested as the party which has put a foot on a five-title approved tower site in Stanhill Drive.

Fellow Melbourne group the Dennis Family Corporation last month was given the green light for a tower in Mawarra St.
