Coast Airbnb rentals ‘a death trap’

An influx of tourists hunting short-term accommodat­ion deals during the Commonweal­th Games has the potential to ignite a fire disaster on the Gold Coast, according to the Unit Owners Associatio­n of Queensland. They say Class Two buildings, which cater for mainly permanent residents, are being increasing­ly used for short-term accommodat­ion through sites like Airbnb without conforming to higher fire safety legislatio­n.

Suicide a dark shadow at work sites

Dozens of Queensland constructi­on workers are dying or facing serious injury each year because of suicide attempts in a crisis causing emotional and financial turmoil across the state. The majority of victims are male, their average age is around 36 and while the triggers for self harm vary, they often involve emotional and financial pressures. Queensland is losing more than 40 workers to suicide each year.

Mum defends having sex while breastfeed­ing

After talking about the issue of sex while breastfeed­ing in a YouTube video almost two years ago, it seems Tasha Maile is still coming under fire for her comments. She told subscriber­s: “A lot of people ask me if it’s OK to breastfeed and have sex. There’s nothing bad about making love at all, ever.”
