Bowler struck Rockets lock after big hit in star Harden

ENGLISH fast bowler Luke Fletcher was taken to hospital after being struck on the head during a T20 match for Notts at Edgbaston.

Fletcher’s first ball against the Birmingham Bears was driven ferociously by Sam Hain and struck him in his follow-through.

The 28-year-old dropped to the ground before he was helped from the field with a towel covering his head and, after initial treatment at the ground, taken to hospital by ambulance. JAMES Harden and the Houston Rockets have agreed on a four-year contract extension that is reportedly the richest in NBA history.

The contract is a super-maximum extension that will guarantee Harden $A299m through to season 2022-23.

“Houston is home for me,” Harden said in a statement.

“(Owner Leslie Alexander) has shown he is fully committed to winning and my teammates and I are going to keep putting in the work to get better and compete for the title.”
