Dogs fume after win

-

BULLDOGS coach Des Hasler has labelled the NRL’s refs the most inconsistent he’s seen after a thrilling 20-18 win over Newcastle last night.

A day after Manly’s Trent Barrett let his feelings known, Hasler heaped further scrutiny on the officials post-match.

Hasler was seemingly most frustrated over a last-minute penalty against Josh Reynolds for an escort off a short kickoff, which gave Newcastle a shot at goal to send the match into golden point.

The attempt went well wide. “The officiating ... I think it’s the most inconsistent I have ever seen it,” Hasler said.

“(Ref boss) Tony (Archer) has work to do. They create calls they don’t need to create.”
