A DRAW between two countries that aren’t Australia isn’t usually cause for celebratio­n.

But rugby union, that misplaced sport with more criticisms than Bernard Tomic, was delivered a mighty helping hand when the All Blacks and British and Irish Lions couldn’t be seperated in the third and final Test on Saturday.

Yes, a winner would have been nice for the neutral, but the contest at least showed how thrilling rugby can be when played correctly.

It’s a valuable lesson for any Australian franchise and delivered a rare positive talking point amid a Super Rugby season that appears to have dragged on for about 18 months.
