ROBBIE TIPPED FOR DEADLY TARANTINO ROLE
SHE’S just finished playing infamous ice skater Tonya Harding in the upcoming biopic I, Tonya, and it seems Gold Coast actor Margot Robbie might have another big role waiting in the wings.
Deadline reports the 27-year-old former Neighbours star is in talks with Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill director Quentin Tarantino to star in his next project, a drama revolving around the notorious Manson Family murders. Led by Charles Manson, the Family committed a crime spree across California in 1969 culminating in the murder of five people at the home of director Roman Polanski and his wife, Sharon Tate.
Robbie is in talks to play Tate, 26, who was eight months pregnant with the couple’s first child when the Manson Family gang stabbed her to death in a crime that shocked the world.
Also reportedly earmarked for the as-yet-untitled film are Tarantino’s frequent collaborator Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Lawrence and Inglorious Basterds star Brad Pitt, who is being courted to play the detective investigating the murders.
The film would be Tarantino’s first release since The Hateful Eight in 2015, and would add to an already busy filming schedule for Robbie, who has four films set for release in 2016 and 2017.
