STREET TALK

DO YOU THINK A BRIDGE WOULD HELP FIX TRAFFIC ISSUES ON THE SPIT? IF SO, WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IT GO? Sarah Whitwell, 31, Pimpama: Maybe if they could organise better transport here and so people don’t have to drive here ... I think the bridge has to come further down (and bypass Sundale Bridge). Rachel Hamilton, 46, Pimpama: They need to open up new roads ... or build new bridges ... (The bridge should be built) maybe from Australia Fair way straight over to (The Spit). Adrian Morgan, 33, Coomera: I think they need to get ... professionals to look at it and measure it and work out how to fix it. They sort of need a bypass bridge. David Kelleher, 54, Coomera: I don’t think a bridge will help to ease the traffic ... people don’t want development down here. I’d love to see more public transport, but light rail, I’m not so sure. Gavin Boot, 60, Southport: There isn’t a big issue traffic on the Spit ... this is not a highway. I see no reason for a bridge to be built ... it could only be built in a place which goes across pretty nature. Ray Scott, 72, Coombabah: I don’t think they can do any more ... you’ve got 100 families with two cars ... that’s the biggest problem. I can only see them going underground.
