Boxer hits out at illicit drugs claim
TROUBLED professional boxer and swimsuit model Lauryn Eagle has allegedly been caught driving under the influence of drugs in broad daylight.
Eagle was pulled over in a black Audi Q5 in Sydney for a random drug and alcohol test just before 10am on Wednesday. Her lawyer Adam Houda rejected suggestions Eagle had taken illicit drugs, and blamed any potential positive reading on prescription drugs.
Police say the 29-year-old returned a negative result for alcohol but returned a positive result for methamphetamine.
Mr Houda denied any wrongdoing on Eagle’s behalf.
“She hasn’t taken any illicit drugs,” he said.
“Such a suggestion would not only be wrong, but also cruel and unfair.
“I have received confirmation from her doctor that any positive reading would have been a direct result of the prescription medication he has prescribed to my client to treat an existing health issue.”
It is understood Eagle is being treated for a sleeping disorder.
