WHAT IS LYME DISEASE?

● Lyme disease is an infection caused by the Borrelia bacteria, which is transmitte­d by tick bite. Lyme disease can impact on bodily systems and organs and can mimic other illnesses. SYMPTOMS

● Acute lyme disease: Flu-like symptoms such as headache, fever, muscle soreness, fatigue and in some cases, a “bullseye’’ rash.

● Chronic lyme disease: Unexplaine­d hair loss; headache (mild or severe); seizures; facial paralysis; tingling of nose, tongue, cheek or facial flushing; pressure in head; stiff or painful neck; twitching of muscles; jaw pain or stiffness; unexplaine­d dental problems; sore throat, phlegm, hoarseness, runny nose.
