WHAT IS LYME DISEASE?
● Lyme disease is an infection caused by the Borrelia bacteria, which is transmitted by tick bite. Lyme disease can impact on bodily systems and organs and can mimic other illnesses. SYMPTOMS
● Acute lyme disease: Flu-like symptoms such as headache, fever, muscle soreness, fatigue and in some cases, a “bullseye’’ rash.
● Chronic lyme disease: Unexplained hair loss; headache (mild or severe); seizures; facial paralysis; tingling of nose, tongue, cheek or facial flushing; pressure in head; stiff or painful neck; twitching of muscles; jaw pain or stiffness; unexplained dental problems; sore throat, phlegm, hoarseness, runny nose.
