STREET TALK

DOES IT CONCERN YOU THAT THE HEAD OF THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES AND THE MAYOR ARE BICKERING SO CLOSE TO THE BIGGEST EVENT ON THE GOLD COAST?

-

BROADWATER PARKLANDS, 3.30PM, 13/7/17

Dirk Lust, 86, Bowen: Peter Beattie is the boss more or less, I think. You get sick of (the fighting).

Mary Evans, 37,

Labrador: No, I’m not interested in the Games. But I would expect that the people involved would engage with the Comm Games in the long run.

Mark Litila, 32,

Southport: A little bit, Tom Tate is a bit of a character. He’s probably just blowing off some steam, it’s stressful with a job like that.

Joanna Aurini, 29,

Southport: I would be, I think in general they need to get along better. It seems childlike.

Sonia Martello, 65,

Southport: I think it is childish, it’s immature. People in a public position need to be more accountable. Nicole Green, 41, Victoria: They probably need to get along to make a smooth event for everybody, it seems silly. They need to put their differences aside to make it a brilliant event.
