Tragedy on buck’s night

-

HOMICIDE investigators were last night trying to identify a woman who was found dead in the shower of a Melbourne apartment in a buck’s night tragedy.

Four interstate men were in custody as detectives began unravelling the circumstances behind the discovery of the body in a serviced apartment in Market St.

The woman, aged in her late 20s or early 30s, was found dressed in a long-sleeved black top, blue denim shorts and white runners.

One of the buck’s party guests said he initially thought that what had happened was “one big stitch-up ... but turns out it wasn’t.

“It sucks,” he said.

It is believed a 000 call was made by a hotel guest after those at the party found the woman collapsed in the shower.

Paramedics were called to the Oaks on Market at 7.51am, but there was nothing they could do to save the woman.

Police were awaiting the results of an autopsy.
