Bar sofa fall kills patron

A 28-YEAR-OLD man fell to his death from the balcony of a pub in Perth on Saturday night.

It is believed the man was sitting on the back of a sofa and fell through cafe blinds from the first floor of the iconic Sail and Anchor pub.

The man fell to the footpath below.

Police said the incident occurred about 8.30pm.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
