Stolen reptiles seized

TWO men have been charged after police seized more than $160,000 worth of protected reptiles allegedly taken from remote parts of Queensland and the Northern Territory.

More than 30 animals, including a black-headed python, blue-tongue lizard as well as rare frogs and lizards, snakes, geckos and skinks, were seized after police intercepte­d a vehicle in Mount Isa.

Two rare frogs died due to the poor, confined conditions. A 19-year-old man and a 27year-old man will appear in court in Mount Isa on August 7.
