Title: The War of Art Author: Steven Pressfield

Publisher: Black Irish Entertainment LLC

★★★★★

THE War of Art astounded many readers in 2002 with its findings.

Author Steven Pressfield explores the role of resistance in our lives and how it is the “most toxic force on the planet”. The force will only appear when an individual has set forth goals to achieve.

Pressfield’s guide shows readers the value of hard work and to understand that the worst critic is yourself.

Resistance can take the form of many things such as procrastination, doubt and most of all reason. He explains how you must grind your way through the obstacles of life. However, his most useful advice is a step-bystep analysis on professionalism.

As he states: “The professional dedicates himself to mastering technique not because he believes technique is a substitute for inspiration but because he wants to be in possession of the full arsenal of skills when inspiration does come.”

Due to its mature language and concepts, I would recommend The

War of Art for readers aged 15 and over.
