Dodt lands a British ticket
QUEENSLAND golfer Andrew Dodt has won his way into the British Open after his four-foot par putt enabled a tie for fourth at the Scottish Open.
Dodt started the final round at Dundonald Links in a share of the lead but dropped out of contention on the back nine as Rafael Cabrera Bello won a playoff over Callum Shinkwin.
But the 31-year-old from Brisbane, ranked 193 in the world, just did enough to secure a first major start.
“I’m over the moon,” he said. “It’s been a big goal of mine.”
