Brakes put on T Rex
ONE of the most terrifying scenes in Steven Spielberg’s film Jurassic Park showed a T Rex sprinting just behind a speeding Jeep.
But scientists have found the dinosaur would not have been able to outrun a human, let alone keep up with a 4WD.
Tyrannosaurus Rex was re- ally a slowcoach – it was too big to sprint that fast, they say.
The scientists have worked out its maximum speed for the first time and found that it was only 26.5km/h.
They hope their research ends a debate about the dinosaur’s speed which has raged for decades.
