AQUAMAN SET RISES FROM ROCK
THE birthplace of a gilled superhero is rising from a rocky headland at Hastings Point.
Crew working on Gold Coast-based Warner Bros. blockbuster Aquaman have begun building an elaborate lighthouse set at the northern NSW holiday hotspot.
Director James Wan will spend three days capturing footage at the lighthouse set next month after Tweed Shire Council gave Warner Bros. permission to film at the popular whale-watching spot.
The location shoot will feature Kiwi actor Temuera Morrison, who plays Aquaman’s lighthouse keeper father Tom Curry.
It is not yet known if Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson or Nicole Kidman will join him.
While Aquaman is expected to spend eight weeks at the site, Hastings Point headland will only be closed to the public for a few days in August when cameras roll.
