Killer driver gets 8 years

-

A YOUNG man has been jailed for more than eight years for taking the lives of two much-loved mothers when he sped through a red light at 140km/h at a busy intersection.

Mohamad Hassan, 21, pleaded guilty to two counts of culpable driving causing the deaths of Bozica Nikolic, 57, and Subha Deumic, 62, in the horror crash in suburban Melbourne in June last year.

Victorian County Court Judge Lisa Hannan yesterday jailed Hassan, ordering that he serve at least six years and two months in prison before being eligible for parole.
