Horror in the cubicle
A MAN who attacked a truck driver with a hammer inside a service station toilet in outback Australia – leaving him with a permanent brain injury – has been jailed for six years.
Stephen Christopher Darroch, 44, forced his way into the toilet at Meekatharra, in remote Western Australia, in September last year and struck the victim several times to the head, and later also punched a policeman.
Darroch, who has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, must serve at least four years behind bars before he is eligible for parole.
